Creative Arts Ministry

Vision Statement:
We exist to minister the truths of the Bible through creative expressions that encourage you and/or bring you into a life of praise and worship.  We pray that God will be glorified through not only our productions, but through our desire to stretch ourselves spiritually, and ultimately aid in bringing the lost to the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Through heartfelt commitment, undying passion, and a hunger for excellence, we believe that God will breather life into our endeavors and use our talents and gifts as instruments of heavenly imagination and champion the call to make disciples of all nations!

Theme verse:

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”
2 Corinthians 9:12-15

Ministries Within CAM:

When dealing with issues of creativity, criticisms and opinions are subjective and it differs from person to person.  Therefore, we look to God for inspiration and what our standard should be.  Every production, every dance, everything that we do should bring an obvious glory to God.  Because of the vast realm of creative arts, we at Jubilee Church have chosen to focus our energies into six different ministries:

*Hip Hop body worship – This ministry will incorporate contemporary styles of dance that will be choreographed mainly to Christian hip hop music.  The main focus is to use our bodies as worship to God through powerful and exciting dance which will ultimately spark the interest of the younger generation and give them something that they can relate to at church.

*Interpretive body worship – This ministry is the more classical approach to body worship and is closer to the body worship that most churches are accustomed to.  Whether it is sign language, modern dance, mime, dramatization, etc., this body worship will visually impact its viewers by relaying the meaning within a song and convey a message that is uplifting and encouraging.

*Drama – This ministry will use the technical aspects of the craft of acting and production to bring to Biblical stories to life.  Whether it is a short one-act play or a full-blown musical production, the goal of the Drama team is to retell the truths of the Bible in a fresh and comprehensive way.

*Choir/Orchestra – This ministry will train its members on the fundamental basics of choral music and orchestra.  It will also help bring an appreciation of the beauty of music through voice and instruments.  Varying repertoire will challenge the members to learn different styles and genres of music that will upgrade their musicianship.  By doing so, this ministry will stress the importance of praise and worship and truly help bring people to understand the beauty of our Lord through music.

*Multimedia – This ministry will focus on using video as a means of communicating the Gospel.  This includes filming, editing, acting, directing, producing, etc.  Whether it is a promotional video for a church retreat or a short film detailing how we overcome our everyday struggles, the goal of the multimedia team is to give a “visual life” to the message of God’s salvation.

*Decorations – This ministry will encourage its members to let their creativity shine as they mobilize to decorate the church and Ecclesia café during various holiday seasons.  This ministry also helps with set designs, costuming, and make-up for musicals and/or plays.  They will use their gifts of painting, sculpting, design, drawing, and visual arts to help all of CAM’s productions come to life!

Final thoughts…..
CAM is not an entity of its own, but rather a ministry that is within Jubilee Church.  Our productions/projects are not to be used in any way that may take away from the church.  We are a ministry that serves God’s people, and therefore, edifying the church and bringing glory to God are our fundamental priorities.  We want to disciple God’s people so they are encouraged to grow deeper in their faith through their participation in CAM and as we make future plans, the church’s needs will be placed first and foremost so that God’s glory will be evident to all.
