Local Missions

"From Jerusalem..."

Local to Overseas

God has called all Christians to, “go and make disciples of all nations.”  Jubilee is committed to fulfilling this Great Commission to the nations. We also believe that we do not need to travel to distant lands to find people who don’t know the Lord.  We can just go out the church doors.  That’s why we are committed to these local missions ministries:

Jerusalem Ministry

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Act 1:8

Jerusalem Ministry is an inter-church ministry, serving in the orphanages in Seoul.
Our goal is to build effective, loving relationships with the children and to be a model of Christ for them. Most orphanages request a 6 month to 1 year commitment from volunteers who meet with the children once a week.  The reason for this is that these children have a deep need for committed people in their lives.

Currently our volunteers are in six different children’s homes in Seoul. They meet with their assigned child/children once a week to help them in their learning. And we pray that through our relationships with the children, they may experience God’s great love for them.

We want to obey God’s calling for us to reach the marginalized. Therefore it is our desire to be His hands and feet reaching out to the children in Jerusalem (Seoul, Korea) and to the ends of the earth.
“Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.” Isaiah 1:17

Hanaro Ministry (North Korean Refugee Church)

Vision for Jubilee’s Hanaro North Korean Ministry: to share Jesus Christ’s wonderful love and salvation through friendship, service, and care for the North Koreans living in South Korea.

Mission of Jubilee’s Hanaro North Korean Ministry: building committed Christ-centered relationships with North Koreans from Hanaro Ministries; providing peer mentorship; and devoting ourselves to prayer for and developing awareness of the situation of North Koreans in South Korea.

Currently Jubilee Hanaro NK Ministry is attending Hanaro Ministry services on Sunday afternoons from 2:25-4:30. We spend time fellowshipping together and participating in the service. We have become a part of the church and are establishing strong relationships and bonds with our friends there. We are always invited to attend special holiday celebrations, soccer games, and retreats with the church members. We love and cherish the time we get to spend with each other.

We have begun a tutoring program for college students in need of English assistance. Many of our brothers and sisters at Hanaro gained special access by the government to enter South Korean universities.  However, they lack access to English training to successfully graduate and/or get a job.  Some drop out and never graduate, while others take long breaks and/or leave for other countries. We feel God has placed this opportunity in our path and are excited to use English to help our brothers and sisters at Hanaro succeed in their university classes.

It is our desire that God uses this ministry to glorify himself. We pray our involvement in Hanaro Ministries would stir up people’s hearts to help those that are in need here in South Korea, but also those that are hurting around the world. We want to show Christ love and mercy wherever we live and wherever we go!

To God be all glory and honor and praise.

Heartland Ministry

With the influx of people away from rural areas to urban areas comes an increase of social, economic, and of course, spiritual needs.  We are committed to proclaiming the gospel through word and deed to people in need in the rural areas surrounding Seoul.

We currently have an English Summer Vacation Bible School that we serve at for one week in the summer in Namyangju and we are praying about other opportunities in which God will call us in this important ministry.
